Yeah, I'm working on a Lyssa drawing at the moment. I'll try and get it entered as soon as possible, but it'll be very close to the cutoff date I know for sure.

I've been wondering. How would people feel if I extended the hand in date. Because it looks like it will take longer for most entrants to actually do their art by the date.

That'd actually be nice. At least it'd give me more time to color my art on my slow dying computer.

Changed the deadline date to the Tuesday 30th January 2007.

This change has been made since artists are to my assumption working on larger projects. That and I really didn't want to spend my new years pouring over entries. XD

Just to say, I will hopefully be entering the contest, however, I'll be doing so only for the artistic exercise, since I'm sure there are others who would benefit from the prize more than I. So if possible, I'd prefer forfeit the prize when I finally do get my entry done.

I've got a really nice idea for Dwyna ^_^

I don't think it'd be a huge minus..

Personally, I'd like to see some black and white and pencilled pictures. =P

Like Elemental qouted. I like a great many styles of art. If I was bias I would have reflected that in the rules to ask for a certain style. Every piece of art has even standing with me. Just because a piece is painted or coloured does not mean it has advantage over pencil drawn. I take pride in being open and flexible, everything I do is an extension of that standard.

The picture up above my post reminded me to bring up something.. is including a profession that follows a certain god in the entry allowed?

As an artist I believe in protecting my work with a watermark. Why exactly are you disallowing them?

My friends and myself have had to deal with art theft in the past and it is more than a hassle and a half to get sorted out.

What kind of copyright protection are you offering the artists who enter?

I've been working on a GW piece for a while now and I thought I would enter it, but if I feel like kids are going to see the piece and go waheyyy cool and put it on their myspace, I'd rather not. :/

By all means use watermarked text in the corners of your art for general copyright purposes. I simply meant the kind that cover the entire piece of art. I would never discourage artists from protecting their own work. However, there is a difference between protecting your work and making it look like some sampler piece from a catalog.

Watermarks in the corners are too easy to just erase. I usually put my watermark (which is my signature in white, and not solid) over the subject of the piece but in a spot where it doesn't ruin the image. So not in the focal point of the image.

I can show you an example if you'd like. Does that sound alright though?
